Event Update

We had a fantastic response to the event and people keep signing up which is terrific. Here is an update for those of you that have been following the event, whether you have signed up already or are considering it.

Closing Registration

We created this event to bring like-minded people together, and really believe that the more we are the merrier: it means more people to meet along the trails, more cool bikepacking set-ups to see, more memories to make and share. We have made friendships at similar events and wish the same for participants of the Tor Divide.

Having said that, we do not want numbers to get out of hand and need to be mindful of local residents and other visitors in the area. For this reason, we are going to put a cap on numbers and online registration will close on the 16th March or sooner, if the cap is reached before then.

Parking & Accommodation

This is still an unsupported event, meaning it is up to you to arrange your travels, resupplying, and accommodation pre, during and after the event. Having said that, considering the number of participants we have been working hard to facilitate parking and to find an event campsite for Friday night. Both have proven to be much much more difficult than expected.

Parking:
We have reached an agreement with a local farmer, providing parking from Saturday morning until Sunday late afternoon for £10pp. Those travelling by car on the Friday might be able to use a field nearby. Further details will be released closer to the date.

Do not forget that there is always a public car park adjacent the Village Hall for late arrivals or longer stays.

Camping:
Unfortunately none of the local campsites is interested in providing us with a large number of pitches for one night only. We are trying to arrange a basic campsite with the same farmer providing parking however, there are no guarantees that this will happen. The only campsite willing to provide us a very limited number of pitches is Fieldhead Campsite: please get in touch with them directly for bookings and do mention the Tor Divide. We will update you as soon as we have news, but you may want to arrange your own accommodation for Friday night.

Unsupported does not mean unsocial and we look forward to the

Finishers Party!!!

We are over the moon to have Kickback Coffee supporting the Tor Divide and providing people a boost of caffeine at the start on Saturday while chatting during registration. Filter coffee and tea will be available.

On Sunday, we will be welcoming riders back at the Village Hall with some quality pizza and cold drinks, courtesy of Proove Pizza (Sheffield & Manchester) and Thornbridge Brewery (Bakewell). Pizza and drinks will be available from 11am until 5pm on Sunday. If you plan to be back earlier/later we might have a limited selection of drinks and some basic food for you. We will follow up with a survey to understand people’s plans so that we can prepare accordingly, please keep an eye out for this.

Live Tracking Survey

Dot-watching is getting increasingly popular and has been used on several non competitive events to share progress with friends and family. We are considering giving people the option to rent/use a GPS tracker a the Tor Divide and would like to hear your thoughts on this.

Please take 1 minute to answer 2 questions using the survey button below, it will help us to make the Tor Divide the best event it can be!

Looking forward to seeing you in the Peak District!
